We got an RFE on my wife's I-485 requesting for copy of marriage certificate. Our priority date is August 2005 (EB2). ND is September 05, 2007.
Anyone else in the same boat? Does this mean USCIS has began processing the 2005 apps?
I think they are going by the RD. Not on PD. Mine is Aug 10 ND and July 2 RD (with Jan 06 PD) and we got an RFE couple of months back...so i guess now they are processing Sep ND/RD...

Here's how I see it.
If you are employed by a US company and are on the US payroll of that company, and they are paying your salary into your US bank account, then I would say, that even though you may be working remotely in an Indian office of that US company - then yes, you need the EAD.
Why - you might ask. Very simply, if you are on the US payroll you need to have an I-9 on file with the company. You can only file an I-9 if you have the legal right to work in the US for that company (EAD / GC / Citizen / H1B etc).
so what it all boils down to is, no matter where you are working in the world for the company, if you are on the US payroll, you need an I-9, to file the I-9 you need a legal right to work, and that for you means the EAD.
one other thing. I believe that you also need to be in the US to file for and receive the AP & EAD.

I thought it was kind of inherent in a programming competition. If he would allow external libraries, the contests could become jigsaw puzzle contests where the person who could find the best open source libraries, and piece them together properly could beat someone who made something completely from scratch.
I appreciate where you're coming from.
When I interpreted the rules/intent of the competition I didn't see anything wrong with using Box2D.
I think I made something awesome no matter what happens. I'm happy with the final product and everything I've learned making it. I'd just hate to see it disqualified because someone assumed I'd know not to use external libraries or external audio.
ps: can you post your code? and btw... i like what you did with your swarming code :)

In order to share the current version I'd have to do a lot of cleaning up... for example I wrote 5 different ways of handling broad level hit detection. At this point I would have to rewrite it to make it sharable.

Aah_GC: Lawyer might not have received it from USCIS otherwise irrational would not be writing it here :) Many who filed during July 07 fiasco have not received the 485 receipt notices (lost in mail) from USCIS.
irrational: For EAD renewal, you can use your biometric notice as a proof of filing for I-485 to extend EAD and you make sure give correct A# on the form , with this USCIS should be able to pull your records. Also write a cover letter stating that you have not received the 485 receipt notice from USCIS, thats it. Nothing to worry, Go ahead and file without 485 receipt notice copy.

If old priority date is not ported then send an email to ebupdate.tsc@dhs.gov(for texas service center) and request to use old priority date for your new application and ask them to interfile I-485. Google for 'I-485 interfiling request sample letter' and you'll find sample format letters. My interfiling request took just 1 week and I got CPO letter, waiting for the physical cards. Good luck.
