I'd recommend looking at the following:
http://vandelaydesign.com/blog/marketing/12-realities-of-pricing-web-design-services/
http://www.linkedin.com
http://www.smartsheet.com/
http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2010/10/charging-per-hour-vs-per-project/
http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2010/08/03/designers-hacks-and-professionalism-are-we-our-own-worst-enemy/
http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/07/14/quality-price-ratio-in-web-design-pricing-design-work/
It's hard to comment on how to actually charge your service because I am not in the US, but take a look at similar businesses and how they charge use this as a guide. Also gauge the project on how much the client is prepared to pay, it might be a cheap but open the door to many other good clients or it could be an expensive one off with little benefit for you.

How about keeping on topic. This thread isn't about Sony. Start a thread elsewhere if you want to discuss it.
Thanks
I'm simply stating the point that I don't understand how people can keep debating this "issue" when there are CLEARLY more important things to talk about. I think because Apple is so successful they get picked on by the media and other Company's seem to get a free pass.
...And just because I have "newbie" next to my name doesn't mean I don't know how forums work buddy.
Thanks

This instantly made me think of Laputa: Castle in the sky as well as the Laputa in gulliver's travels.

This is great news if it means the end of mobile me. Die Mobile Me - DIE DIE DIE. Anything will be better than the self centered sounding @me.com. I simply will not use the email address in a professional context. Don't mind @Mac.com, and still use it, but @me.com sends the wrong message.
Also, this.
As big a fan of the film, and Miyazaki, as I am, I'm not sure the end of the film would make for a good analogy!! 'Store your data with Apple: watch it crumble into the sea or float off into space!' :)
That's already happening. I got an email from Apple tonight telling this was the last reminder they were going to give me to update my calendar on the MobileMe systems to the new version otherwise I'd lose the ability to sync it and wouldn't be able to view it online, either. Which sounds like they're going to delete it for all intents and purposes.
I bet the only reason it's required I click something to perform this update is because it entails agreeing to a new EULA with some nefarious new terms or requires I start using the newest version of iCal to sync with the online calendar (which, coincidentally, isn't available for the version of OSX I have, which coincidentally requires me to buy a new Mac to run).

I recently designed publicity for the play, HARVEY. Many might be aware of the movie of the same name starring Jimmy Stewart. The play is about an eccentric guy who starts seeing this 6-foot White Rabbit that wears human clothing. Is he crazy or does he really have a new best friend?
The actual poster is here (http://www.gowan.us/harvey). It was put together with eight different source photos.

I realize that you didn't question the legality but another poster (that I originally quoted) did. I am aware that the buyer will not be required to pay, and he shouldn't be. I just can't stand people that automatically declare something illegal because they think it is wrong. It seems to be a common practice these days.
too many immature people on this board, and people who think they know everything about everything :p which is why i haven't posted much over the past couple of months.

Missed their chance when Apple didn't approve the improved Google maps app the first time it was available. Now it has improved even more while Maps.app has done nothing, and I'm sure Google has withdrawn the app now that they are doing their own phone OS.
Come on Apple - give us a nice surprise.
What you seem to be referring to is Google Voice. Google never developed turn-by-turn directions for iOS, and I don't think they plan to develop it. Google Maps gives Android a big competitive advantage, so I don't think Google is every going to port it over to iOS.
Apple bought out Placebase and a couple of other mapping companies. It's time Apple put them to use and get away from as many of Google's services/apps as possible.

Even one example of someone being killed by the state for something they did not do invalidates the whole edifice of capital punishment.

I hope they add 4:2 cropping. It is silly that the iPhone app can croop in many aspect ratios but does not crop in the iphone aspect ratio.

I'll have my new i7-2600k computer coming online sometime next week after I complete its construction and thorough testing (ahem.. overclocking..). All of the parts for it are arriving today (including the new revised SB motherboard finally!), but except for unfortunately the ram is coming via USPS and is currently in Ontario, CA bound for northern CA so it may be here on saturday but I'm not optimistic. I'm pretty excited for this actually, this will be (relatively speaking) the fastest computer I've ever had.

Thanks.. I was kind of being sardonic, though.

Do you have any proof that FT actually does sell email addresses?
Just because businesses wants your email doesn't equate to they'll sell your details...
Response...
Than why else do they want them? FT references their "business model" needing this "relationship". As other have said, I want their content NOT a relationship.
That is NOT a reason to assume they do sell information. Probably marketing reasons.
Apple wants people to give personal information ( address, phone number etc ) to sign up for the various *free* developer programs ( i.e., Safari Developer ).. that isn't an indication that Apple are going to sell your information... However, according to your response.. Apple will sell this information... ( which of course, they will not ).

So whether a person deserves to get mugged based on how he dresses has nothing to do with whether he dresses as a wealthy person dresses, but instead has everything to do with your moral judgment of how well he conforms to standards that exist in your own head. Dressing like a pimp or drug dealer: fair game. Dressing like a much wealthier Wall Street type: well that's just so wrong you can't even understand the comparison.
People you respect don't deserve to be victimized, but people you don't respect are just getting what they ask for.
Should your assessment of responsibility for criminal behavior be based on such superficial judgmentalism, or should everyone be equal before the law?
Well look at you projecting what you think I believe over what was posted. We'd make a lot more head way in this forum if this kind of **** would stop happening, but I guess it's too much to ask. Because I didn't post nor do I agree with anything you wrote.
Your blind comparison of an 11 year old "dressing like a prostitute" and a man in a business suit to prove some point didn't work.
