I am in the same boat.File July 27. I140/I485 conccurently but so far I only have receipt for I140.Call USCIS over 10 times already no luck at all.And they told me that all applications from TSC are in the system.My lawyer call today and she was told that there are more cases from TSC that are still keying in for applications received during the month of July. So I ahve no idea what to believe.Call USCIS and request to check on your case.

I strongly suggest that IV introduce $20 monthly recurring contribution, I will defenitely sign up and most people will do it, I think.

Hi,

I have my work visa H1B with comapy ABC. I didnot work for them. Now Company XYZ is offering me a job and is ready to apply for H1B transfer. To do so I need atleast 2 pay stubs. I also have my EAD valid till Nov. So what is the best thing to do.

It's a bit of a guess without seeing the images, however when the light source i.e. a lamp, or a window is in the picture area it forces the camera to average its brightness into the exposure calculation. The result = dark pictures. I remember way back when when I was just getting started I had no Idea how dark it realy was when I started shooting indoors. Uping the sensitivity As previosly described is most likely necessary. (either that or a tripod, and neck clamps for your subjects as was done in the days of tintypes.) You might also consider bouncing a flash off of a white ceiling or wall to soften the light and avoid the harsh lighting you have learned to dislike.

EB-3-I is stuck in 01...not likely to move till Oct and then in OCT08..it will move by couple three months for the next 12 months till OCT 09..What are the option for EB-3 stuck here..from 01, 02, 03 ....

1) Convert to EB-2 ?.

2) wait for legislation from Logfren to pass

3) wait another 3 years...already in the Queue from 01..


If I choose to convert to EB-2..I have to put in a PERM and then I-140..what is the time line for getting my LC thro PERM and then my I-140 in EB2 cleared?? based on the current processing times..

Do I wait to see if Logfren's legislation goes thro ..if doesnt go with the conversion to EB-2...???

Please help me decide...

What you could possibly see at end-of-tunnel are:

Lofgren bill passing before election and recaptured numbers becoming available from 10/2008. All categories may become current and remain current for 6 months to a year.

OR

EB3 ROW becoming current atleast by end of next fiscal year (by 09/2009, so that EB3 I would start progressing at a faster rate.

OR

you (and everyone in EB3 I) would be asking the same question even after 3-4 years.

If you have the ead card, the file #/card# will tell you which center was your EAD fiiled. To get an approximate date using the online case status search for the file number in the approximate range as yours. For Eg. if you card # is EAC 07 043 52343 - then the center is Vermont, Filed in Fisical year 07 ( Oct -06 - Sep 07) 043 is the 43rd working day in FY07 and 52343 is the case number.

Hope this helps.

Thats what I did...but I did not put in the date of filing......My old EAD card had a LINxxxxx number

Let me try to make a humble suggestion here - why don't you try writing a really short and direct letter, so that even the laziest guy cannot help but read it?

For example:

I would like to draw your attention to the bill <blah blah> which is very important from the point of view of people waiting in line to be legal immigrants

Hello:

I have a last minute doubt - my H1B stamp on the passport is expired, so is the white I94 card. I have a valid I797 extension.

Can I use automatic revalidation? I am in doubt because the white I94 card is expired and I will have to present it to the officer at the port of entry.

I came back to US on Mar 30 2008 using advance parole. The officer wrote on I-94 , paroled until Mar 29, 2008 (I am assuming its an oversight).

I didnt detect the oversight till yesterday. What my current status and what actions should I take to rectify the error.

I am still working for my employer that sponsored the H1B which is valid till Feb 2009, although the stamp on the passport was valid only till Feb 2008

For I-485 Applicant, it is not of much significance.
At POE, AP is stamped for one year (with I-94), but when it expires, it does not matter. One can continue working on H1 or EAD. And if someone is in USA on H4 (and not working on EAD) also remains in vaild status.

So there should not be any reason to worry, however, as suggested by "kshitijnt" better to get in touch with USCIS and let them do corrective action as required.

Some of you here know the immigration law much better than I do and I just have a quick question on the "ability to file 485" issue. When congress passes a law, not every little detail is spelled out and it's left up to the related government agency/department to implement/interpret the law and spell out every single implementation detail. Having said that, is the "Ability to file 485 only when PD is current" actually spelled out in the law or is it something how USCIS decided to implement the law? If the later is true, shouldn�t we try to convince USCIS to let everyone file I-485 regardless of the PD. I mean it�s a win-win situation. USCIS gets more revenue because you now have to renew your EAD every year and most of us will be very happy because we can make career/employer changes as necessary.

The reason I ask is because it makes a lot of difference for lot of folks in terms of their own career advancement as well as spouse�s career.

I'll be graduating from med school next year. Per student counsel/student affair office, my seniors are qualified med professionals and are eligible for eb2 category.

Does immi law allow a person to file H-1B when he/she is a derivative 485 applicant / AOS pending status?

Just trying to explore the possibilities to apply 485 under EB2 category and my current status is 485 EB3 AOS, primary applicant is my spouse. I would really appreciate the valuable suggestions and thoughts.

Nik gives some good advice.

If you still want to continue shooting during the darker part of the show (and don't want to "fix" they eyes of every animal shot), you'll have to find a better way to light things - this means not using a direct strobe from the camera to the animal (or cowboy), as this is what causes the red/white eyes - light reflecting straight back from the eye to the camera.

The simple way to solve this is to get an off-camera hotshoe for the flash, and place it at 30-45 degree angle away from where you're shooting in relaton to the subject. To get the best results, you'll probably want to have TWO flashes, both at an angle from the subject.

You still won't get "all" great shots, but they will be noticably better than the current setup.

The next step further would be to use proper studio strobes (two or three). Of course, you can no longer just walk into the arena with your camera at this point, but you probably need permission to put up some 6-8 foot tall stands with the strobe on it, and find some power sockets to connect the strobe power unit to, etc, etc... This is similar to how I understand that Kevin Sadler does his job - and horse-shows and that sort of thing is his business... He may well be around to give more advice at some point.
